Since the most recent version in portage isn't working on my box anymore I've made an ebuild for the latest scribes release. http://scribes.sourceforge.net/ Reproducible: Always

Hello, The Gentoo Team would like to firstly thank you for your ebuild submission. We also apologize for not being able to accommodate you in a timely manner. There are simply too many new packages. Allow me to use this opportunity to introduce you to Gentoo Sunrise. The sunrise overlay[1] is a overlay for Gentoo which we allow trusted users to commit to and all users can have ebuilds reviewed by Gentoo devs for entry into the overlay. So, the sunrise team is suggesting that you look into this and submit your ebuild to the overlay where even *you* can commit to. =) Thanks, On behalf of the Gentoo Sunrise Team, Markos. Created attachment 262799 [details] NEW app-editors/scribes dependency changes I don't know if this ebuild is working after all. It does it for me without the full gnome desktop dependencies. I'm using openbox and don't need all the gnome stuff, especially the burner apps and such. I'm also not sure about the doc useflag. It prevents yelp to be installed which depends on xulrunner. I don't need the gnome help center and yelp would be the only tool with pulls into xulrunner on my box. Could someone verify if scribes is still working with this ebuild?
Created attachment 263119 [details] Adds dev-python/pyxdg as dependency Seems to be working fine for me - I'm using XFCE and also don't have a full Gnome desktop environment installed. The only issue I encountered was that the ebuild was missing dev-python/pyxdg as a runtime dependency (fixed ebuild attached).

This ebuild is maintained in belak overlay from now on. All updates will go there. Use layman -a belak to keep it up to date.
This is now in the sunrise overlay. You can find it at: http://overlays.gentoo.org/proj/sunrise/browser/sunrise/app-editors/scribes I've patched away the byte-compiling by make - deleting byte-compiled modules by portage - byte-compiling again by portage issue.
The ebuild in sunrise was outdated and unmaintained, so it got removed.
