Same here. Please compare the same webpage in firefox and chromium: http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/2363/firefoxw.png http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/8231/chromiumg.png Image in header is blue but firefox displays it more purple than it really is. Forgot to mention that the 'purple' happens both with firefox 3.6 and firefox 4. # eix -I -c firefox [I] www-client/firefox (4.0_beta9_pre-r2[1]@01/02/2011): Firefox Web Browser [I] www-client/firefox-bin (3.6.13@12/13/2010): Firefox Web Browser [1] "mozilla" /var/lib/layman/mozilla Found 2 matches.
I'm reassigning to X11 after talking to Jory (anarchy).
Could be a cairo problem. Do you get the same colors when you print to file?
actually has nothing to do with cairo, if you refer to same image in imagemagick does it display the same way?
"display /tmp/pic.png" shows sample image in normal colors
Print to file from firefox to pdf file makes pdf with "purple" colors
Does Firefox use some kind of color profiles?
In ubuntu 10.10 this file displays correct in same version of firefox
Does the problem happen for a newly created user too?
nothing changes with new user and new firefox profile (image still "purple")
Any ideas? I can try to build firefox with diffrent use-flags, or try old version of cairo/libpng
Did you try disabling firefox's color management? I'm not sure which about:config option handles this, but I would definitely try one of those options first. In any case, I doubt it's an X11 issue. Cheers
Thank you, Rémi Cardona. I set "gfx.color_management.mode" to "0" in about:config and restart firefox. All images is normal now!
I think mozilla team should briefly review the surfaced facts before closing the bug
We will not override the default if the user wishes to they may do so as always.
