X crash and kdm immediatly restart when login.

Sometimes, more, the login box does not appear.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

2.
3.

Actual Results:
New installation of a system with KDE (and I'm noob on it, I usually use GNOME, but I wan't discover KDE).

Are dbus and consolekit started? Attach ~/.xsession-errors if you can.

Looks like broken xorg.conf to me.

Does starting a failsafe session work in kdm?
In the failsafe session you can run startkde and watch its output.

I encountered the same problem after upgrade from KDE 4.5.4 to 4.5.5. KDM segfaults right after login: kdm[1651]: segfault at 0 ip (null) sp 00007fffadb503d8 error 14 in kdm[400000+29000]. I still can run fully functional KDE running startx.

Please try kde-4.6.0 and report back...

Old kde version, no reply for over a month...
