Description Alexey Dobriyan 2010-12-30 20:25:31 UTC
I use ppp0 over eth0 to connect to Internet. ppp0 is started manually via pon(1).
If ppp0 is not started, Chrome reproducibly segfaults.

IIRC, stable chromium didn't have this bug, simply showing network is not available.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch clean Chrome,
2. Start typing at the address bar keywords for previously visited page (I tried "gentoo iptables").

Somewhere after letter "o" (or Space maybe), chrome segfaults.

Comment 3 Paweł Hajdan, Jr. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-12-31 18:33:42 UTC
Could you try that with chromium-9999? If it still crashes, please submit a bug report upstream: http://new.crbug.com and post the link here.
Comment 4 Alexey Dobriyan 2011-01-07 05:39:35 UTC
_long_ checkout, all for nothing.

* Installing/updating to version 10.0.630.0_p70630
* Failed Patch: chromium-system-speex-r0.patch !
*  ( /usr/portage/www-client/chromium/files/chromium-system-speex-r0.patch )

www-client/chromium-9.0.597.44 shows same bug, FWIW.
Comment 5 Paweł Hajdan, Jr. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-01-24 15:50:15 UTC
This doesn't seem to be a Gentoo-specific issue, could you report it upstream? http://new.crbug.com/

Then please post the upstream bug link here.
Comment 7 Paweł Hajdan, Jr. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-02-12 16:24:41 UTC
Please re-open if the upstream bug report gets closed but the problem is not fixed.
