Description Paul Wouters 2003-12-03 14:14:29 UTC
Gentoo kernel ships 2.04 version of freeswan kernel module KLIPS
Gentoo userland ships superfreeswan 1.99.

Not only does *freeswan not interoperate between 1.x and 2.x
superfreeswan and freeswan also don't interoperate.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. ipsec --version will show the problem:

 Linux FreeS/WAN Usuper-freeswan-1.99_kb4/K2.03

Expected Results:
fix: either ship superfreeswan-1.99.8 or ship freeswan-2.04, or have both als
choice, but don't mix and match.

freeswan & superfreeswan are out of the tree. All users are migrated to openswan/strongswan. The patches in gentoo-sources-2.4.26-r4 are now matched with openswan-2.1.4.

Closing.
