Contrib scripts ussed to be installed, and are rather heavily used.  Someone punted it pre <=0.8.2..

Needs restoration- no changelog entry explaining it's removal either.

You forgot to enable USE="examples".

Eh fuck... pardon for the noise.  Checked the ebuild over, didn't spot the contrib part matched to examples, mea culpa.
