If the problem is the old version of driver, how can i use newer if is this the last ?
This should be solved by bug 348186 (and bug 341975 sort of). Messing with older ebuilds is not productive. Just use latest stable drivers.
err, wrong resolution
(In reply to comment #2) > This should be solved by bug 348186 (and bug 341975 sort of). Messing with > older ebuilds is not productive. Just use latest stable drivers. Those are stabilisation bugs and this is a feature request. Also, the drivers' major versions are related to different hardware series - I can't use a 260 release for a Geforce 2 MX/400 so I need to stick with the 96 series. That said, the Summary does not need to spell out a specific version. I think the feature could be useful in 1) educating users and 2) preventing five new bug reports and twenty duplicates to be filed with every new kernel release.
Nothing to do with bug 341975 either.

All the packages have explicit depends on the versions of the X.org server they support. Anyone that strips this off needs to not do that and immediately revert their change.
