I fixed some mistakes which I had overseen yesterday during the removal. Please sync and test gain.

you'll probably have to wait until the fixed ebuild has been synced to the mirrors. It's an easy fix anyway. If you are in a hurry just replace the '=~' in line number 28 with a '==' in the ebuild. .. or you replace the 'if*' with 'if.*' ...depends on your taste ... I would use the first solution because it saves you one char. ;)
Sadly that's not the fix. I am working on it.
Why not! Too me it looks as if you just used the regex comparison operator '=~' but mistakenly used a glob pattern on the right hand side. This led to a wrong detection of the Intel Fortran Compiler which in turn passed the raw LDFLAGS (which the Intel compiler seemingly is in need of) to the used compiler regardless of its type. ... or am I wrong?

exactly! so just do [[ x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gfortran == if* ]] or if you wnat to stick to '=~' [[ x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gfortran =~ if.* ]] because '=~' uses regular expressions for comparisons.

Are you sure this is now fixed? I am getting this very issue and I'm using today's portage tree (I even see the "Fix for bug 348935" entry in ChangeLog).

Nevermind, I realized that my gcc was built without "fortran" USE flag. Probably should put that into dependencies, what with this being a Fortran package, eh?
