Maybe something with the fortran eclass removal and some --as-needed filtering/issue??
Comment 5 Justin Lecher (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-12-17 11:06:44 UTC
I fixed some mistakes which I had overseen yesterday during the removal. Please sync and test gain.
Comment 6 Eric Chatellier 2010-12-17 11:33:00 UTC
Just synced, same error for me.
Comment 7 Thomas Scheiblauer 2010-12-17 11:51:22 UTC
you'll probably have to wait until the fixed ebuild has been synced to the mirrors. It's an easy fix anyway. If you are in a hurry just replace the '=~' in line number 28 with a '==' in the ebuild.
.. or you replace the 'if*' with 'if.*' ...depends on your taste ... I would use the first solution because it saves you one char. ;)
Comment 8 Justin Lecher (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-12-17 11:54:35 UTC
Sadly that's not the fix. I am working on it.
Comment 9 Thomas Scheiblauer 2010-12-17 12:02:59 UTC
Why not! Too me it looks as if you just used the regex comparison operator '=~' but mistakenly used a glob pattern on the right hand side. This led to a wrong detection of the Intel Fortran Compiler which in turn passed the raw LDFLAGS (which the Intel compiler seemingly is in need of) to the used compiler regardless of its type.
... or am I wrong?
Comment 10 Justin Lecher (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-12-17 12:30:26 UTC
it doesn't work, because

[[ x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gfortran =~ if* ]]

is evaluated as true.
Comment 11 Thomas Scheiblauer 2010-12-17 13:14:41 UTC
exactly!
so just do
[[ x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gfortran == if* ]]
or if you wnat to stick to '=~'
[[ x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gfortran =~ if.* ]]

because '=~' uses regular expressions for comparisons.
Comment 12 Justin Lecher (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-12-17 13:36:11 UTC
Sorry for that one, fixed now.
Comment 13 Andrej Kacian 2010-12-30 19:34:06 UTC

Could you please attach your build.log and the output of emerge --info sci-libs/blas-reference, please.
Comment 15 Andrej Kacian 2010-12-31 12:53:51 UTC
Nevermind, I realized that my gcc was built without "fortran" USE flag. Probably should put that into dependencies, what with this being a Fortran package, eh?

try gfortran -v and if this also fails, you know that you don't have a fortran compiler.
Comment 26 SI Reasoning 2011-01-18 18:45:43 UTC
gfortran-4.4.4 was in /usr/bin but there was no gfortran in /usr/bin. I created a symlink and now I get:

# gcc-config -l
 [1] i686-pc-linux-gnu-4.3.4 *
 [2] i686-pc-linux-gnu-4.4.4

I have now switched to i686-pc-linux-gnu-4.4.4 and that connects with /usr/bin/gfortran now. It is now compiling and recognizes fortran.

Thanks
