================================================================= sys-fs/aufs2-0_p20101122 was built with the following: USE="inotify nfs ramfs -debug -hardened -kernel-patch"
I seems that you are missing the patches in the kernel. What strikes that the warning messages do not appear. You can solve your Problem by enabling the "kernel-patch" USE and rebuilding your kernel.
no. USE="kernel-patches" is needed just the first time. if the useFlag was needed, the ebuild should failed to compile. s939 linux # USE="kernel-patch" emerge -1 --nodeps aufs2|grep WARNING WARNING: "au_hnotify_op" [/var/tmp/portage/sys-fs/aufs2-0_p20101122/work/aufs2-standalone/fs/aufs/aufs.ko] undefined! I cannot reproduce it here. Could you please try to reproduce it with a clean kernel src dir?
(In reply to comment #6) > I cannot reproduce it here. Could you please try to reproduce it with a clean > kernel src dir? > done. with non luck. but the problem does not happens in my main x86_64 system. it happens just in a chrooted x86 one.
I suspect that there is something weird going on with this patching. So in case it happens again, please use a clean src dir and try again. If it reproducibly happens please reopen the but and attach a build.log in which it straight happens after applying the patches.

Porbably we should switch from AUFS_HINOTIFY to AUFS_HFSNOTIFY choice prompt "method" if AUFS_HNOTIFY default AUFS_HFSNOTIFY config AUFS_HFSNOTIFY bool "fsnotify" select FSNOTIFY config AUFS_HINOTIFY bool "inotify (DEPRECATED)" depends on INOTIFY endchoice
(In reply to comment #9) > Created an attachment (id=257214) [details] > ebuild patch > thanks. this patch works for me.
Then we should progress now.
works for me too... using aufs for mount the portage tree combined with squashfs, it's a quite critical fix... really tnx for the patch, hope to see this in portage soon.
Good to hear that it is working. I will include it ASAP.
tnx justing, and again tnx Alexander!
Could you please attach a kernelconfig for which it fails w/o the patch?
FYI the patch worked for me with the exactly same gentoo-sources version on amd64.
(In reply to comment #17) > FYI the patch worked for me with the exactly same gentoo-sources version on > amd64. > I want to find out if it is a sideeffect, that it works or if it is a real solution. Because I doubt you all need apple type partition table support.
