Description Stuart W. Finlayson 2010-12-11 01:58:03 UTC
Double clicking on hyperlinks in windows using net-irc/kvirc-4.2_pre5124 fails to open the associated protocol handler (Settings->Configure KVIrc->General options->URL handlers). I tried replacing the handler command with various other ones, but to no avail--the command does not actually execute. This worked fine with net-irc/kvirc-4.2_pre5000.

Does this problem occur in the newest revision (net-irc/kvirc-9999)?
If yes, then please report this problem to upstream.

run chromium $0

what i put in setup-..general--.urlhandler

this allowed me to get my browser chromium to open the page for me

not sure why it wouldn't until i changed that. but it did work.
Comment 3 Stuart W. Finlayson 2010-12-14 21:40:58 UTC
Okay, as suggested, I installed net-irc/kvirc-9999. When I started it up it said something about upgrading the scripts, and that if I want to downgrade to an earlier version I needed to revert to the older scripts (it was this mini-wizard type thing)--I got the impression that it was recreating the scripts, not using the original ones. So, I reverted to the older scripts. While running the latest version the URL handlers worked.

I then downgraded back to net-irc/kvirc-4.2_pre5124 and now the URL handlers are working. I guess that script reverting thing fixed whatever the problem was.

If you can reproduce the problem again, then reopen this bug.
