Sorry but I can not help here without more info. Do older versions of conky work with this combination? How do you start conky? Do you get error messages when starting conky from the console? You need to be a bit more verbose about your problem. I don't have kde or openbox installed and will not try to reproduce. Please provide more information and reopen the bug.

Not really!

Does it work with plain KDE, I mean without using openbox as window manager? Did you have a working version before or is this the first time you try conky?

Yes it works with default kde/kwin

Yes

I'm using conky on my 7 machine, since a long time, but it does not work only with kde/openbox

This is one of the informations you should have provided at first. So conky works just not if you are using it within openbox. Then I would say this is not a conky bug but a bug in openbox, or you have to tweak your conky settings to make it work with openbox.

Try playing around with the own_window setting in conky. Also take a look at the conky documentation, maybe there are other settings which could help here. Conky works with openbox, at least searching the net proves this, so consulting the internet may be a good start as well.

PS: Do you have editbugs permissions, as you have assigned this bug to the proper maintainers yourself?

I am closing this one for now, as I think this is a configuration issue you can/should fix yourself. I wont dig through the net and do this for you.
