Something seems to be wrong with your glibc - both linux/inotify.h and sys/inotify.h define that constant (gnome-vfs uses the later).
I was told recently by our systems people that there is now the opportunity to upgrade SUSE Enterprise 10 from SP2 to SP3. I don't know if that gives me a fresher glibc but it may be worth a shot.
