Description Dwayne 2010-12-06 02:56:20 UTC
when the kernel starts to boot, then reaches the "Loading Modules" step then scans and loads about 70 modules (35 pata, 12 sata, and the rest misc). then when completed with loading these modules the process reaches Activating Mdev, from this point the screen goes black for about 40 seconds and then user name & password screen appears.

Reproducible: Always

this machine normally boots in under 20 seconds using Arch. I know the problem is mine, concerning the install of the Gentoo. I would appreciate some guidance toward understanding what I have done so I may learn how to correct the matter.
