I am trying out the newer version of Ekiga which is masked for PPC.  I have added,

=net-voip/ekiga-3.2.7
=net-libs/opal-3.6.8
=net-libs/ptlib-2.6.7

to /etc/portage/package.keywords and emerged each as shown in the ``Additional Information'' section.

Ekiga starts up fine, and I can see my own video.  But when I place a call to [e-mail], [e-mail] or [e-mail], after about 30 seconds I get the response, ``Could not connect to remote host''.

This seems to have been reported in 290071 as well, but I was encouraged to report it separately because my architecture is PowerPC.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.  Call any of [e-mail], [e-mail] or [e-mail].
2.  Observe the eventual message at the bottom of the window.

Actual Results:  
Call will not go through.  This worked in Ekiga 2.0.12 on the same Gentoo installation.

Expected Results:  
Response should come back from the echo services 500 and 520 at least.

Last time I've tried it worked fine on amd64 starting with 3.2.7 (previous versions were partially broken too). So may be this is arch specific problem. Hi,

I have an update.  The sound is fine, apparently I had too many sound codecs enabled.  The problem that remains, and this looks like a PPC big-endian thing, is that the video is divided into vertical stripes, each of which is reversed left-to-right, as if viewed through a Fresnell lens.  I'm waiting on them for an answer to this.  I am unable to take a screenshot with gnome-screenshot or gimp, as the video area appears black.  Any suggestions?

I've long since given up on PPC and no longer have the screenshot, sorry.  I can tell you, however, that the Ekiga folks said they'd look into the issue but never said anything else about it.

Ok, then I'll close this bug as UPSTREAM in hope that this is/was fixed there or until somebody else has similar problem.
