I just did a reinstallation following gentoo handbook. After the installation I got the following error message. Your system seems to be missing critical device files in /dev ! Although you may be running udev or devfs, the root partition is missing these required files ! Either I did something wrong or the installation documents are not really up-to-date. I am primarly thinking big changes the last couple of years with udev, baselayouts and so on. Atleast the error "help message" worked pefectly and was really useful. (Now my system works).
