Description Ed Suominen 2003-11-30 00:54:04 UTC
I stumbled on this when trying to select something from Klipper to paste into
google. As soon as I type Ctrl+Alt+v" to activate Klipper, the Xfree86
(4.3.0-r3) server immediately ceases to respond to keystrokes or mouse clicks on
menu buttons. I can still move windows around, but cannot get anything to
respond. (Even Ctrl+Alt+Backspace doesn't do anything.)

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Put focus in Mozilla browser window
2. Type Ctrl+Alt+v
3. Try typing or clicking on any menu

Actual Results:
No response to keystrokes or mouse clicks (except to move windows)

Expected Results:
Normal response

Portage 2.0.49-r15 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.2.3, glibc-2.3.2-r3, 2.4.20-gaming-r3)

KDE 3.1.4
Mozilla 1.5

I cant reproduce this in 4.3.99.16 just for informations purposes.
Comment 2 Harm Geerts 2003-12-03 17:06:34 UTC
I have similar behaviour running Xfree-4.3.0-r3 and kde-3.2.0-beta1 and also with kahakai-0.5.1
The results vary a bit more on my system, there are occasions when all keystrokes and mouse-clicks don't respond. But as we speak it's limited to the mouse only. The pointer moves across my screen but clicking on the taskbar/selecting text etc . doesn't work.

After I kill a window that's running on my desktop the X server will respond normal again. But this usually only lasts for a short time and then X freezes again.

Does this continue to be a problem?
