Description Thomas 2010-11-30 20:29:45 UTC
When you go to translate.google.com the flash plugin crashes. Couse of that it's impossible to hear the text when klicking on "Listen".

More information: http://groups.google.com/group/google-translate-general/browse_thread/thread/8d0957638b2b6792 - but as it seems that only gentoo linux is affected I think this is better here.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Comment 1 Davide Pesavento (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-11-30 23:32:38 UTC
Always reproducible here with adobe-flash-10.2.161.23_pre20100927. What's your installed version?
Comment 2 Rafał Mużyło 2010-11-30 23:39:52 UTC
Reproducible with adobe-flash-10.1.102.64.

Seems to affect only firefox (I guess mozilla too), as it works in opera.

As such, better assign to mozilla, even if for RESOLVED UPSTREAM.

The reporter should post his info too.
Comment 3 Jory A. Pratt gentoo-dev 2010-11-30 23:55:32 UTC
This only seems to effect 3.6 trunk builds from mozilla overlay are fine. This is most likely another cairo bug.

Tried with www-plugins/adobe-flash-10.2.161.23_pre20100927 and www-plugins/adobe-flash-10.1.102.64

crashes every day here (as I use google translate a lot) on ~amd64 with adobe-flash-10.2.161.23_pre20101117. also crashes on my ~x86 laptop.
Comment 8 Jory A. Pratt gentoo-dev 2011-01-14 16:41:08 UTC
You are more then welcome to take this upstream, as it is a binary plugin I do not see much help coming down from there as well.

Flash (plugin-container) consistently crashes for me too when I visit Google Translate. I'm running adobe-flash-10.2.159.1_p201011173 and firefox-3.6.16 on amd64, with a grsec kernel. (Are any of you guys also using a hardened/grsec kernel?)

Here's the logging from dmesg if it helps:

Comment 11 Thomas 2011-04-29 06:16:45 UTC
No grsec/hardened here.
Also, this bug is fixed. Update to Firefox 4 and all will be fine.
Comment 12 Aidan Marks 2011-05-01 23:17:10 UTC
Confirming upgrade to firefox 4 on x86 did fix this annoying crash, though of course many firefox extensions are still not supported, ho hum.
