Description Sergey Ilinykh 2010-11-30 08:10:36 UTC
just tried to compile with CFLAGS="-O1 -march=core2 -fgraphite-identity"

which causes:
x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-g++ -c -O1 -march=core2 -fgraphite-identity -fPIC -Wall -W -D_REENTRANT -DNDEBUG -DSIP_PROTECTED_IS_PUBLIC -Dprotected=public -DQT_NO_DEBUG -DQT_GUI_LIB -DQT_CORE_LIB -I. -I/var/tmp/portage/dev-python/PyQt4-4.8.1/work/PyQt-x11-gpl-4.8.1-2.7/qpy/QtGui -I/usr/include/python2.7 -I/usr/mkspecs/linux-g++ -I/usr/include/qt4/QtGui -I/usr/include/qt4/QtCore -I/usr/include/qt4 -I/usr/X11R6/include -o sipQtGuiQMatrix2x3.o sipQtGuiQMatrix2x3.cpp

after removing -fgraphite-identity compilation went fine

my usual emerge --info (has different CFLAGS but seems problem is reproducible with any graphite flags)

gcc installed a hour ago, so it includes latest ICE fixes from report about cairo ICE

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Comment 1 Peter Volkov (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-11-30 09:08:08 UTC
I failed to reproduce this issue with 4.5.1-r1, but it was built on
Tue Nov 23 22:15:25 2010 >>> sys-devel/gcc-4.5.1-r1
Comment 2 Peter Volkov (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-11-30 09:10:28 UTC
sorry for noise, I've rebuilt without graphite.

Comment 4 Sergey Ilinykh 2010-12-27 13:10:11 UTC
hm 4.8.2 fails with ICE even w/o graphite flags.

at least i can't compile it with

# cat /etc/portage/env/dev-python/PyQt4
CFLAGS="-O2 -pipe -march=core2 -msse4.1"
CXXFLAGS="${CFLAGS}
Comment 5 Sergey Ilinykh 2010-12-29 15:06:17 UTC
huh it seems settings flags in /etc/portage/env/dev-python/PyQt4 doesn't work for some reason for me.

just tried to set them usual way in make.conf and PyQt4 compiled fine.
So I can say PyQt4 is still broken with graphite flags even with gcc-4.5.2
Comment 6 Ryan Hill (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-08-04 05:01:35 UTC
Upstream isn't fixing this for 4.5 so there's not much to do unless you want to do the legwork.
