This (long standing) bug is fixed in the upcoming 2.6.37 kernel
Reporter: can you check if it is actually fixed in kernel 2.6.37?
The corruption in the taskbar and Alt+Tab window was already gone before I upgraded to Linux 2.6.37. Must have been fixed by some earlier upgrade of Linux, Mesa or some other package. But I still have garbage in the second icon from the left in the window title bar. The first icon seems fine (window menu). The second, broken, icon is the one that toggles whether the window should be on each desktop (sticky). I use the style called "KDE 2" in the control center. The preview there looks fine, just the decorations of actual windows do not.
