I have -cups set in my make.conf and was surprised that in the nxclient ebuild cups was set as a dependency. After removing that line I emerged nxclient and I am glad to tell it works fine without cups. I bet some features are missing but I think I'll survive that. Could you please add a use flag for cups in the nxclient ebuild?
Sorry for the delay, I wanted to test a few things with nxserver-freeedition first. nxclient provides nxprint binary (linked to libcups), so current ebuilds did require cups. I have added nxclient-.3.4.0.7-1 to tree, which does not install nxprint when USE=-cups nxnode and nxserver-freedition (closed-source) seem to check for nxprint availability, so latest versions now depend on nxclient[cups] to be on the safe side. But for nxclient alone, you should have a cups-free install now!
Yes works fine. Thanks. Better to have to wait a bit longer and get a properly tested fix than to get yet another broken fix which needs more reporting and more fixing and more testing.
