It'd be really very nice to have a small little gentoo image designed specifically for distcc purposes. Around the house/office, there would be no doubt spare computers, or ones with their power being unused. It would be really nice to use this spare power to help with the install process, but for reasons, they can't have linux put on them, or its too much hassle to establish a distcc environment. A CD designed specifically for running distcc purposes, one that could be booted from CD, that fires up a rather dull environment, would be excellent. Something that doesn't require a HDD, and can just use ram/ramdisks. I.e, suppose Gentoo 1.5 comes out, and everyone decides to start from scratch. The target computer can be booted with the normal LiveCD, while others can be booted with a distcc image, purely to assist with compilation. That'd be nice :) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
distcc livecds are available, look in the experimental directories on mirrrors, and the 2.6 experimental livecds contain gcc/distcc.
