The named ebuild does not work properly. I can start up the service but i cant
stop or restart it, and it does not appear to work. I just get "!!" when trying
to. Metalog does not show anything.

What version of the bind ebuild are you using?

Did you upgrade from an older version?

I dont remember if i updated, but if i did, it didn't work neither the first time.
But i took your implied suggestion and i unmerged named and remerged, this time
it works fine!
