Description Martin Bednar 2010-11-24 13:25:58 UTC
When trying to use the sftp kioslave (4.4.5), it fails on an "out of memory" error. Upgrading libssh to 0.4.4 and recompiling kdebase-kioslaves seems to have solved it (I haven't run into this problem since). A workaround is using the fish:// kioslave.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open Dolphin/Konqueror/Krusader
2.try connecting to an ssh-enabled machine using sftp://uname@hostname
3.

Actual Results:
"out of memory" error reported, and no connection established

Expected Results:
remote folder browsing over ssh

Strange, I've never seen this yet. Please attach output of emerge --info

But as I mentioned in my first comment, using libssh-0.4.4 fixes it. Fedora had it too : https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=582968

The related Ubuntu bug report at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libssh/+bug/562240 is also interesting. Basically a second way to fix the problem seems to be just to rebuild "kdebase-runtime", i.e. whatever Gentoo ebuilds that corresponds to...

As libssh-0.4.1 and libssh-0.4.4 seem to be ok, and as nothing in between is left in the tree, I'll resolve this as fixed.
