Description Dmitrii 2010-11-21 16:29:02 UTC
"Adaptec Starfire/DuraLAN" driver causes kernel panic on my Minecraft(java-based-game) server on client connection. Server crashes almost instantly after connection from Minecraft client (Win7, Sun-Java-1.6) thru any port of DuraLAN ethernet card. This happends in 95% of ceases, only one exception I ever met was successful connection from Gentoo Linux Client.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use DuraLAN ethernet card, Kernel 2.6.32-36, Sun-JRE-1.6.0.22
2. Start Minecraft Server binded to any ethernet port of DuraLAN.
3. Recieve connection from minecraft client (Win7)
Actual Results:
Kernel Panic!!!!!

Expected Results:
Without panic!

You will have to provide a lot more information than that. You can start by posting the output of `emerge --info' in a comment. dmesg output attached as a file would be nice too, as well as your kernel config and perhaps a detailed log of what actually happens when a client connects, and how this might affect memory use of the Java subsystem, for instance.
