Current list is: brightness, menu, trash - no logout

First of all: The Gentoo Xfce4 documentation is for stable marked Xfce, that's 4.6 and it doesn't have such use expand.

To the point: I don't see why this needs to be documented in the first place, it's sort of obvious that XFCE_PLUGINS is used for enabling/disabling Xfce plugins :-)
And XFCE_PLUGINS="logout" is exactly that: Xfce "logout plug-in" for panel

Perhaps change the wording to (and get rid of the list):

'XFCE_PLUGINS is used to enable or disable panel plugins built from same source tree with another package. For example, XFCE_PLUGINS="brightness" would enable brightness (control) panel plug-in from xfce-extra/xfce4-power-manager.'

Fixed. I removed the section entirely, since USE="-minimal" is what the guide recommends, so all those plugins will be built anyway.
