hal fails to validated the documentation when enabled by the doc use flag. 

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.USE="doc" emerge =sys-apps/hsl-0.5.14-r3
2.emerge fails with an error stating network I/o Error: unable to validate 
3.

Actual Results:  
emerge fails while creating documentation

Expected Results:  
hal and documentation are installed

either missing docbook-xml-dtd-4.1.2 on the system or corrupted sgml catalog. Do you have the previously mentionned dtd installed ? If yes, could you re-install it and check if it fixes the problem ?

That did the trick to get it to install. I would recommend adding a test for the docbook slot to avoid the headache in the future though.

Just to be clear:  Was it missing before?  Or was it broken?  (ie, did you install it new or re-emerge it?)

I had to install the DTD to get hal to emerge successfully

I did not have it installed
