Description Brett Edgar 2010-11-17 17:31:46 UTC
When I use MAKEOPTS="-j9" (yes, I have a dual quad-core box) net-libs/daq-0.3 fails to build. Using MAKEOPTS="-j3" allows the package to build.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. set MAKEOPTS="-j9"
2. emerge '=net-libs/daq-0.3'
3. build fails

Actual Results:
Build fails with message:
mv: cannot stat 'y.tab.c': No such file or directory
make[2]: *** [tokdefs.h] Error 1

Expected Results:
Build completes.

I've determined that any value less than 8 (MAKEOPTS="-j8") works.

Actually it's worse than that. Any value larger than 1 may or may not trigger this issue. The chance of hitting it just goes up with larger values ...

And fixed by forcing makeopts to -j1. Didn't bump ebuild as it doesn't affect the results if it installed before ...

The problem still exists in net-libs/daq-0.4 where makeopts was not forced to -j1. Should we reopen this bug or file a new one?

Oops, that was a synchronization issue. Should be fixed now, thanks for the report
