1) Which kde version?
2) emerge --info output please
3) We can't do much about this here, so if you insist, please file an upstream bug at bugs.kde.org and add here its URL

How it looks.

I just emerged KDE 4.7.2 including KDEPIM (all still masked, I used keywords file from this blog post: http://dilfridge.blogspot.com/2011/10/preparing-for-another-kde-stable.html ).

I confirm this bug, although I don't know how to reproduce it reliably. In 4.6.5 it was OK.

I added a screenshot how it looks. I configured taskbar to show only tasks from current virtual desktop, so on desktops 1,2,3 it's OK, on 4 currently there's space like some hidden task buttons.

It appeared twice for me: (1) when someone has written to me in Skype chat while I was on empty desktop using notepad widget, that chat window arrived on current desktop with space to the left; (2) when Steam started, it's "loading" window showed in correct place on taskbar but main window - with delay. Again, I could not reproduce it reliably.

Comment 6 Maciej Mrozowski gentoo-dev 2011-11-02 18:14:18 UTC
Ugh.. personally I don't think that bugs.gentoo.org is the best place to report Plasma glitches... there are too many of them and we cannot possibly track all those upstream bugs here.
We even shouldn't imho.
Comment 7 Dmitry Grigoriev 2011-11-02 18:31:01 UTC
Well, I thought it's just a matter of currently ongoing KDE 4.7.2 stabilization. Usually I report KDE bugs to KDE. :)
Comment 8 Maciej Mrozowski gentoo-dev 2011-11-02 18:34:52 UTC
That's true, still it's cannot be considered a blocker for 4.7 stabilization it's not a regression - this Plasma bug is there for *ages*.
Comment 9 Maciej Mrozowski gentoo-dev 2011-11-02 18:36:56 UTC
Now when I think about it, WORKSFORME would be inappropriate, and we in general shouldn't mark bugs RESOLVED/UPSTREAM even when it begs for it...
Comment 10 Johannes Huber (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-12-11 15:25:54 UTC
Can somebody confirm that this is gone in current stable KDE SC 4.7.3?
Comment 11 Dmitry Grigoriev 2011-12-11 15:30:40 UTC
I haven't seen this bug for a long enough, in fact somewhere since last time I commented in this ticket. Weird.
Comment 12 Johannes Huber (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-12-11 15:33:14 UTC
Thanks for fast reply. I close this for now, if this bug occures again feel free to reopen it.
