First, this is assigned to the wrong team. The Documentation Project has nothing to do with the files that are installed. We just run the website documents.

Second, your issue is nonexistent. "rc-update del consolefont" removes consolefont from ALL runlevels, not just boot. The comments in that file say that if you don't plan to use consolefont, then you need to remove it from runlevels that use it. "rc-update del consolefont" removes it from all runlevels; you don't have to figure out which ones you put it in and run a command for each one.

I get an error message like

error rc-update : service consolefont is not in the runlevel default


the reason I posted this bug. Sorry for the wrong category.
