latest version in portage makes impossible its use in case you are using client certificate with it. See link.
I would hardmask it until a new ebuild is done and tested properly (I'm using client certificates extensively so feel free to ask me to test that)

Thanks for the report, but I'm afraid Gentoo can't do much here. Upstream actually claims the problem is fixed. Please provide more details in the upstream bug report if you can still reproduce the issue with 7.0.517.44.

thanks for pointing that out, I can confirm the bug does not affect the current latest version (being 7.0.517.44) found in portage.
Sorry for opening the bug.
