Please confirm that you are running rsync >= 2.5.7. I've added 202.182.69.69 to the access list for rsync1.us.gentoo.org. You should be able to sync with rsync1.us withing 30 minutes. Please update your rsync cron jobs to point to rsync1.us.gentoo.org and post back here when you've done so. I'll monitor the server for a couple days to make sure things are working fine. Once we get the portage mirror testing, I'll send instructions for the source mirror. Thanks.
rsync has been upgraded. the mirror has been syncing from rsync1 sorry it took a while too respond. i didn't see an email from bugtrack about this update.
Can you confirm how often the mirror is syncing? Looks like its only once per hour.
i missed a comma sorry :) this is all set 00,30 now.
I've been monitoring since Thursday (the 11th). There were no missed syncs on Thursday or Friday, but Saturday and Sunday had some. Could you check the logs to see if there are any connection problems with rsync1.us? The missed syncs are listed below, times in UTC, last column in () indicate expected timestamp. Thanks. Checked (UTC) Timestamp ============================================================ 08:50:07 Sat, 13 Dec 2003 07:50:00 +0000 (08:20) 10:20:07 Sat, 13 Dec 2003 09:20:00 +0000 (09:50) 15:20:07 Sat, 13 Dec 2003 14:20:00 +0000 (14:50) 14:50:12 Sun, 14 Dec 2003 13:50:01 +0000 (14:20)
I'm going to add this mirror on a trial basis. We'll see if we get any out of sync reports. This server is now rsync4.au.gentoo.org. Please update the motd file to include that information. Also, I've subscribed <reece.anderson@staff.keypoint.com.au> to our gentoo-mirrors mailing list (low volume). This list is used to discuss mirror-related issues. Thanks for supporting Gentoo.
