Bug needs to stay open until it is fixed in tree.
Comment 5 Fabian Groffen gentoo-dev 2010-11-05 07:23:33 UTC
the upstream patch for this is:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=33049

bottom line is that we should figure out why inotify/kqueue isn't used/detected

Well, inotify wasn't mainlined until 2.6.13. RHEL4 (and CentOS 4 by associaion) are on 2.6.9. Is this related..? not sure, but probably.

and the question is, how do we conditional do this patch in the ebuild... kernel_is -lt 2.6.13 maybe?

Fabian, will you sync dbus then I will add a kernel check (hack). Thx
Comment 9 Fabian Groffen gentoo-dev 2011-06-24 14:29:24 UTC
synced to 1.4.12
Comment 10 Jeremy Olexa (darkside) (RETIRED) archtester gentoo-dev Security 2011-06-24 14:54:11 UTC
Thanks. Added the hack to get it compiling again, not sure what will break in the long run...
