Description Roland Ramthun 2010-10-31 17:30:15 UTC
I own a Logitech Illuminated Keyboard, which has, as the name says, a background illumination.

After activating USB suspend in the kernel, the keyboard is rendered unusable:
*) It starts to flash (suspend -> immediate wakeup, even without a key pressed)
*) While dimming the illumination up after every suspend, key presses are not recognized for fractions of a second

I wrote an udev rule to disable USB suspend for this specific model, which solves the described problems. You'll find it attached.

If there is no other solution for this problem, please consider to include it into our udev version.

I think it should probably be fixed in the kernel, not worked around in udev.
Can you please email LKML about it?
(i've seen similar w/ my G15)

I own a Logitech Illuminated keyboard and I'm writing with it as we speak using Linux 3.7.1 and sys-fs/udev-197-r3 with ~arch xf86-input-evdev and ~ərch X.org.
I also have USB suspend enabled because it's required for UDisks to work correctly. Dimming of the keyboard works fine too and the keyboard is immediately responsive.

Please try again.

I still use this hardware on a stable amd64 system with USB suspend and have no problems anymore, the problem has been fixed.
