Description Konstantin Likhomanov 2010-10-31 14:24:33 UTC
On ~amd64 system with jpeg-8b and tkimg-1.4.20100510, trying to open a jpeg image in tcl/tk program leads to a segfault (particularly, this crashes tkabber when opening vCards with jpeg images). A more verbose bug report with stack trace is here http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=3016150&group_id=52039&atid=465492 , I can confirm the crash.
The easiest way to reproduce:
sphere:~ % cat z.tcl
package require Img
image create photo -file /home/konstantin/Deep_Dive.jpg
sphere:~ % wish z.tcl
zsh: segmentation fault wish z.tcl

Could you try with tkimg-1.4, just committed? Thanks.

It doesn't compile successfully:

I have media-libs/tiff =4.0.0_beta6, built with use-flags "cxx jpeg zlib -jbig -static-libs"
Comment 4 Slava Gorbunov 2010-11-20 15:09:34 UTC
The same error even if I rebuild tiff with jbig use-flag enabled
Comment 5 Harry Bullen 2011-02-24 17:44:16 UTC
I also have this issue. I have a amd64 sabayon system. I have had the same results as Slava Gorbunov, tkimg 1.4 dose not compile and emerging tiff with the jbig use flag dose not fix the issue.
Comment 6 Justin Lecher (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-07-21 18:51:17 UTC
Could you please test 1.4-r1 and reopen if this isn't fixed?

Wrong bug sorry.
Comment 8 Justin Lecher (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-07-21 18:53:03 UTC
But could you test this again with 1.4-r1?
Comment 9 Vladimir 2011-08-05 06:56:54 UTC
Hello!
I use Coccinella and have the similar problem with JPEG avatars.

I have just downgraded to "dev-tcltk/tkimg-1.4-r1" and it works fine so far.
Comment 10 Justin Lecher (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-10-08 13:15:36 UTC
same with tkimg-1.4-r2?
Comment 11 Justin Lecher (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-11-20 11:06:17 UTC
seems to be now issue anymore.
