Hello bugs.gentoo.org,

This is my first bug-report and I wish you all a nice day.

The way the aufs2 package is installed could be better imho.
The aufs2-utils and the aufs2 kernel patches should either be two packages or merged in a proper way.
The sys-fs/aufs2 ebuild always installs the userspace-tools (which is good because you always need them) but for the kernel patches it should be the users decision if he wants to apply it, because many kernels already have a patched kernel.
The current ebuild features a use flag 'kernel-patch', which informs the user - if disabled - that his kernel is not patched and the ebuild edies! What is the use of this?

The newer patchsets feature a KBUILD-patch which would be really helpful to have, if I want to build aufs2 into the kernel. Which is extremely helpful.

Sorry, i seem to have missed this bug somehow and was a bit busy during the last weeks.

Can you tell me, which kernel sources are pre-patched or include aufs2 support? I dont know of any of the official kernel sources for Gentoo. the aufs2-utils can also use specific features of the related/newer aufs2 versions, so updating the utils while keeping an old kernel version might cause some issue from time to time.

Oh, and while at it: Please dont CC the maintainer, the bug-wranglers as initial assignees do check the bug and assign it to the right people or group afterwards.
