Description Christopher Schwan 2010-10-28 17:04:08 UTC
merging lapack-reference-3.2.1-r1 fails compiles fine on ~amd64-linux (thats prefix), but fails to link in the end:

/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/4.4.3/../../../../x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld: cannot find -lblas
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

eselect shows that a proper blas implementation is selected:

gnuke@gnuke-desktoppc ~ $ eselect blas list
Installed BLAS for library directory lib
  [1]   reference *

I have tested the very same version on ~x86-linux, which works.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

Looks like the path to the blas library is missing completely. Will have to look at Makefile.am
Comment 3 François Bissey 2010-10-28 22:04:17 UTC
I forgot to ask. Output of
pkg-config --libs blas
as we talked about on irc.

in

./configure --prefix=/home/gnuke/gentoo/usr --build=x86_64-pc-linux-gnu --host=x86_64-pc-linux-gnu --mandir=/home/gnuke/gentoo/usr/share/man --infodir=/home/gnuke/gentoo/usr/share/info --datadir=/home/gnuke/gentoo/usr/share --sysconfdir=/home/gnuke/gentoo/etc --localstatedir=/home/gnuke/gentoo/var/lib --libdir=/home/gnuke/gentoo/usr/lib/lapack/reference --with-blas=-lblas

It should have ended with:
--with-blas="-L/home/gnuke/gentoo/usr/lib/blas/reference -lblas"
or something like that. Similar to what we did with Martin for linbox.
It would be interesting to have the content of:
/home/gnuke/gentoo/usr/lib/blas/reference/blas.pc

Here it is:

prefix=/home/gnuke/gentoo/usr
exec_prefix=${prefix}
libdir=/home/gnuke/gentoo/usr/lib/blas/reference
includedir=${prefix}/include

Let's say, reopen if not fixed. :)
