Bug 343105 – new italian mirror (mirror.units.it)

Hi, 
I have configured a new full mirror (except /experimental) at Univerity of Trieste.

It has the following services:
- http (distfiles, releases and snapshots)
     * http://mirror.units.it/gentoo
- rsync (portage and distfiles)
     * rsync://mirorr.units.it/gentoo-portage
     * rsync://mirorr.units.it/gentoo-distfiles

I'm using this for daily update from many weeks and I didn't have any troubles.

I have put your server into our monitoring system so we can check it for the
next 2 weeks.  If everything looks okay, you will be put into the official
rotation.

Your mirror seems to have several problems.  The gentoo-portage module is lagging:
Portage at rsync://mirror.units.it is lagging (delta is 00d 05h 26m 04s)

distfiles over http is lagging:
Distfiles at http://mirror.units.it/gentoo is lagging (delta is 00d 09h 10m 45s)

releases (part of the distfiles checks) is lagging by even more:
Releases at http://mirror.units.it/gentoo is lagging (delta is 27d 18h 11m 05s)

And when trying to check distfiles over rsync, it also failed:
rsync: change_dir "/distfiles" (in gentoo-distfiles) failed: No such file or directory (2)

It looks like the structure for the distfiles mirror is missing.  Please look into these issues and let me know when fixed.

Closing this for now as the mirror is not in a usable state.  Please reopen when you fix these issues and want to go through testing again.  Thanks

Hello. On behalf of the mirror-admin team, I want to apologize for not getting back to your bug report. At this time, we are closing ALL new mirror request bugs.

The Gentoo Linux Infrastructure team and the mirror-admin team have found that a plethora of community mirrors exist and adding more requires an exponential amount time from us then we have available. As such, this becomes a more poor user experience than desired because the team cannot keep up. The Gentoo Linux project is not contrained in hardware resources and does not need anymore mirrors (even if your request is for a country that is not represented currently).
