Jer, cut me down, and Gentoo unstable will soon have a xen-kernel older than the Debian Stable one ... i was at least trying to wake the Xen team up ... but you managed to close my bug a way they would not even be ring at all ...
Let's go for ANY version again then. :)
so that this bug may last untill 2012 ?
On code.google.com I saw xen-sources 2.6.34-r(5|6): http://code.google.com/p/gentoo-xen-kernel/downloads/list Since it seems that we have to wait for newer kernels a little bit longer would it be possible to bump 2.6.34-r6? Thanks!
gentoo-sources-2.6.38 available for other people ;'( Please, while you up to xen 4.1 ... don't forget the kernel ...
(In reply to comment #6) > gentoo-sources-2.6.38 available for other people ;'( > > Please, while you up to xen 4.1 ... don't forget the kernel ... Yep. But full support for xen will be with 2.6.39 and if you will try git sources starting with 2.6.38-git14 it will be there
The xen team is working on pushing pvops _dom0 support to the main tree. However, 2.6.39 will not include the very important backend for blackdevices. Let's hope 2.6.40 will include that. Not sure, what other features are missing. But AFAIK there is a working pvops dom0 branch maintained by the xen people. However, there has never been an ebuild for that :-( I've been using vanilla sources from kernel.org for domU for ages. So at least my domUs are up2date. However, we really need up2date dom0 sources.
blackdevices = block devices
Current xen-sources with version 2.6.18-xen-r12 is completly useless. Udev refuses to start with such old kernel version. Masked 2.6.34-xen-r4 seems to work fine on production server.
2.6.38 is in the tree.
