I think this is the most promenant error: ../../../depcomp: line 69: @LIBTOOL@: command not found

Also, there are a lot of "errors" listed in the plug-in report after all the make files are created.

Note: I don't think this is the same as bug #32337

That is _weird_, and looks to me like some sort of auto* problem.
Also, the "errors" in the plugin report are normal and nonfatal, just an overly alarming way of stating that a prerequisite for an optional plugin is not available so it won't be built.

I had a newer version of auto* tools installed when I attemped to install f.d.o's Xserver, installing the stable auto* tools in portage fixed the problem.
