Description Matthias Dahl 2010-10-22 12:47:16 UTC
Since the kdevelop guys are short on man power, releases happen not as often as one would hope and the "current" stable branch gets dropped pretty early once a new major release is on the horizon, so it would be very helpful to have live ebuilds for the current/next stable branches of kdevelop and kdevplatform available.

kdevelop: git://gitorious.org/kdevelop/kdevelop.git
kdevplatform: git://gitorious.org/kdevelop/kdevplatform.git

current stable (but already dead actually)] branch 4.0
next stable (a matter of days)] branch 4.1

Thanks a lot.

Reproducible: Always

Are you sure the URI http://gitorious.org/kdevelop/kdevelop is still valid?
Most KDE projects are already migrating to git.kde.org
Comment 2 Matthias Dahl 2010-10-22 12:58:42 UTC
There is currently a discussion about it going on and seems like this will happen sometime after the 4.1 release which is upon us soon.

See:
http://lists.kde.org/?l=kdevelop-devel&m=128612959220891&w=2

Also the following blog entry by one of the devs pretty much sums up what I already said about man power and stable branches:

See:
http://milianw.de/blog/kdevelop-402-and-kdevelop-41-beta-1-released

Last but not least: I forgot to add, kdevelop 4.1 requires kdevplatform 1.1.

I don't think it's worth (gain vs maintenance cost) adding live ebuilds for kdevelop from stable branch.
