Bug 34201 – synaptics-0.12.0 depends on non-existant xfree

When I tried to emerge the stable synaptics-0.12.0, I got an error saying that
it depended on >=xfree-4.3.0-r4, which doesn't even exist. I assume this should
be changed to xfree-4.3.0-r3?

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. `emerge synaptics`

Nope. -r3 supplies the synaptics driver, so if you could also emerge this it would overwrite files, which is bad. -r4 is in the works and will not supply the synaptics driver. 4.3.99.x also doesn't supply the synaptics driver, and that's what it's intended for until we release 4.3.0-r4.

Great, -r3 supplies the driver. Where exactly does -r3 install the "synclient" tool for adjusting the touchpad sensitivity without requiring xfree to be restarted?

emerge gentoolkit && qpkg -l xfree | grep synclient will tell you.
