Just wanted to share the answer RedHat folks gave, which IMO makes sense (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=643507): "Actually - usually you don't use /usr/bin/[ , but built-in function with same name from bash. This built-in function is covered by bash builtins.1 manpage, but man is unable to handle `man [` nor `man \[` ... you have to use `man "\["` ... afaik there is no easy way how to handle this in man itself (discussed with man mantainer few months ago), therefore closing NOTABUG, as "[" manpage is present in RHEL-5 (but hard to display)."
