joscar is an extensible Java library for instant messaging using the AOL Instant Messenger OSCAR protocol. joscar is the only open-source implementation of AIM 5.2 Secure IM, the AOL Proxy Server and Get File protocols, Trillian SecureIM, and more. I think it belongs in the dev-java category.

I used portagemaster as a basis for the ebuild. I don't know if there are better ways to check for the JDK at compile time and stuff like that. If there are, please let me know.

Confirming that this package builds correctly with sun-jdk-1.4.2.02 and blackdown-jdk-1.4.1.
