After updating the system yesterday... some of my libs have been 'unlinked'... I have been able to re-link most of them by re-emerging... but still gnomemeeting doesn't run. NOTE: Sorry if this is not a general bug, but a solution is required anyway. There goes what I get: nomemeeting: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5: version `CXXABI_1.2' not found (required by gnomemeeting) gnomemeeting: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5: version `GLIBCPP_3.2' not found (required by gnomemeeting) gnomemeeting: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5: version `CXXABI_1.2' not found (required by /usr/lib/libh323_linux_x86_n.so.1.12.2) gnomemeeting: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5: version `GLIBCPP_3.2' not found (required by /usr/lib/libh323_linux_x86_n.so.1.12.2) gnomemeeting: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5: version `CXXABI_1.2' not found (required by /usr/lib/libpt_linux_x86_r.so.1.5.2) gnomemeeting: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5: version `GLIBCPP_3.2' not found (required by /usr/lib/libpt_linux_x86_r.so.1.5.2) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. gnomemeeting Actual Results: gnomemeeting doesn't start due to a failure with dynamic libraries. Expected Results: dynamic libraries should be linked... how? try revdep-rebuild this is not a Gnome related bug, but gcc related (thats c++ standard libraries breaking... Ouch )
revdep-rebuild says everything is OK... unfortunately that's not true :( Could you tell me what libraries does gnomemeeting depend on? Perhaps rebuilding them helps... BTW, do you know what does this mean?: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5: version `CXXABI_1.2' not found
This doesn't happend only with gnomemeeting for what I see: $ abuse.sdl abuse.sdl: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5: version `GLIBCPP_3.2' not found (required by abuse.sdl) abuse.sdl: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5: version `CXXABI_1.2' not found (required by abuse.sdl)
Fixed: I removed the simlink /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5 which was pointing to a library it should not. Now everything works.
