I cannot reproduce this at all, what dbus version are you using? Does it fail on a new created user account?

No problem, as a side note, I have just bumped tomboy to 1.4.2

I am using xmonad as window manager. The problem was that xmonad's parent process was not a part of a dbus.(got the answer from: http://markmail.org/message/ksu76qzzqcqx6yno) In my .xsession i changed "exec xmonad" to "dbus-launch xmonad". After that change, tomboy worked again. regards, fabian
