Thunderbird 3.1.3 fails to search adressbook at OpenLDAP 2.4 (openldap-server-2.4.21 on FreeBSD 6.4) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set up (and fill) an adressbook on OpenLDAP 2.4 server; 2. Configure Thunderbird to use it; 3. Set up auto-completion of adresses in Thunderbird. Actual Results: See "can't connect with LDAP-server" error. Expected Results: Normal search in the Directory. Replication works fine. Search in replicated copy also works as it should. So, to see the error after replication you should wait a couple of days (about 3-4).
The server part was a little bit changed. Now LDAP pool is running on FreeBSD 7.3 RELEASE with OpenLDAP 2.4.23. With Thunderbird 3.1.4 not reproduced. In about middle next week I'll check the current stable version of Thunderbird (AFAIR 3.1.7).
Thunderbird 3.1.7 Direct search in the tree (without replication) works OK.
Currently I use: mail-client/thunderbird-3.1.7 on the same Gentoo system. openldap-server-2.4.23 on FreeBSD 7.3 RELEASE-p2 Thunderbird _sometimes_ (not always) failes search in LDAP tree. With two different errors (I think Russian localizad error messages willn't be useful and didn't copied them). Replication (and search in replicated tree) works normally.
(In reply to comment #3) > Replication (and search in replicated tree) works normally. > Search in AdressBook window also works OK.] At the time, when auto-complete address in compose window failed with search in LDAP tree.
(In reply to comment #4) > At the time, when auto-complete address in compose window failed with search in > LDAP tree. > The issue is seen only at the first attemp to search after start. Later (for example after success search in AdressBook window) the LDAP adress auto-completion, while composing becames to work normally.
Does this bug still happen with thunderbird-9.0? Please test and reopen if necessary.
