Description onip 2010-10-04 12:21:37 UTC
There is some error with newer gvfs and ssh/sftp handling as it _immediatly_ errors out speaking of a timeout.

gvfs-1.6.3 works correctly.

googling I found this ( https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/1.6.4-0ubuntu1 ) with the link to debian patches. Applying git_backout...patch seems to solve the issue.

Reproducible: Always

and then it breaks with latest openssh, this is not acceptable.
Please add emerge --info and emerge -pv gvfs openssh
The original upstream bug report should be commented on/reopen if there is a problem interacting with older openssh revisions.

is rising openssh requirements an option then?

I think we simply need to apply the following upstream patch:
http://git.gnome.org/browse/gvfs/commit/?id=4033907045abcf498686c1b34be7b0160260088d
Comment 7 onip 2010-10-05 08:25:18 UTC
recompiled with new patch instead of the one I linked. Seems to work correctly.
Comment 8 Gilles Dartiguelongue (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-10-05 08:32:42 UTC
Please apply. I wonder why upstream didn't put up a note on the original bug report though...
