Description avx 2010-09-30 15:12:59 UTC
Latest version of xwininfo (1.1.0, ~amd64) segfaults whenever I click a window(more info in linked URL).

Downgrading to stable (1.0.5) and then running it works. A few days ago, a patch has been added to the ebuild, don't know if that may be the problem.

As you can see, I already rebuild everything X11, but nothing changed

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge =x11-apps/xwininfo-1.10
2. xwininfo
3. click any (root) window

Actual Results:
segfault

Expected Results:
work properly, returning the querried data

###

It indeed does. However, current git HEAD works fine as well as 1.0.5.

EH? git head is exactly the same as the 1.1.0 we have in portage...

Then we're having some extended magic here. Tested once again. Downgraded to 1.1.0 -- segfault. Upgraded to 9999 (rebuilt) -- works.

Tomáš, did you not patch xwininfo recently? :)

> Tomáš, did you not patch xwininfo recently? :)

The patch is clean, it differs with HEAD only by a single space.

What causes the trouble seems to be --with-xcb-icccm. We don't have that in the live ebuild, and after removing that the 1.1.0 version works as well.

Should be fixed in xwininfo-1.1.0-r1.

Confirmed for ~amd64, thanks.
