I'm using lighttpd for a webserver and have php compiling with the cgi USE flag. As of this morning (29Sep10) when I ran my (mostly daily) emerge world update I'm getting: emerge: there are no ebuilds built with USE flags to satisfy "=dev-lang/php-5.2*[apache2]". !!! One of the following packages is required to complete your request: - dev-lang/php-5.2.14 (Change USE: +apache2) I looked at httpd-php-5.2.ebuild and it shows: RDEPEND="|| ( =dev-lang/php-5.2*[apache2] =dev-lang/php-5.2*[cgi] )" So unless my code-reading ability has failed me it should only require one or the other. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge -uva world Actual Results: emerge: there are no ebuilds built with USE flags to satisfy "=dev-lang/php-5.2*[apache2]". !!! One of the following packages is required to complete your request: - dev-lang/php-5.2.14 (Change USE: +apache2) (dependency required by "virtual/httpd-php-5.2" [installed]) (dependency required by "@selected") (dependency required by "@world" [argument]) Expected Results: The emerge should have accepted the cgi USE flag for the dependancy I'm running the hardened profile. royale httpd-php # After some checking I found the problem. However, the error message about the apache2 USE flag was not only unhelpful, but completely misleading. The problem was that I had dev-lang/php ~x86 in package.keywords but not virtual/httpd-php ~x86 Adding the virtual line cleared up the error and allowed the emerge to proceed normally. I would still call it a bug, though, in the way the actual error should have been reported.
Hi Wyatt, You are not supposed to mix branches so I consider this bug invalid
