 * Stopping firewall ...                                                                                                                                                      [ ok ]

Could you attach your /etc/conf.d/wpa_supplicant?

There is probably an error in your /etc/conf.d/wpa_supplicant, not /etc/init.d/wpa_supplicant. You may have found it yourself by now, but if not please attach that file as Michal suggested.
Comment 5 Agostino Sarubbo gentoo-dev 2010-10-20 23:01:26 UTC
solved...was my error.

I have exactly the same problem when starting some services depending on net

my steps to reproduce:
# /etc/init.d/icecream restart
 * Stopping Distributed Compiler Daemon ...                               [ ok ]
 * Starting Distributed Compiler Daemon ...                               [ ok ]

all is ok. but when i modify some net-configs i have the same problem.
# touch /etc/conf.d/wpa_supplicant
# /etc/init.d/icecream restart
 * Caching service dependencies ...
/etc/init.d/../conf.d/wpa_supplicant: line 15: syntax error near unexpected token `}'
/etc/init.d/../conf.d/wpa_supplicant: line 15: `}'
/etc/init.d/../conf.d/wpa_supplicant: line 15: warning: syntax errors in . or eval will cause future versions of the shell to abort as Posix requires [ ok ]
 * Stopping Distributed Compiler Daemon ...                               [ ok ]
 * Starting Distributed Compiler Daemon ...                               [ ok ]

my question what syntax error is in my wpa_supplicant?
